In 1967, Heuer introduced the Camaro, a Swiss watch named after the renowned American muscle car, the Chevrolet Camaro. At that time, muscle cars were enjoying immense popularity, and Heuer sought to tap into this market to enhance their position.

The Camaro marked a departure from Heuer’s usual case design, adopting a distinctive slightly angular cushion shape, setting it apart with a unique appearance. Available in stainless-steel, solid gold, and gold-plated cases, the watch came in two or three-register versions, offering various dial configurations. The present example features a dark brown dial with a three-register layout. Initially born with a charcoal brown hue, the dial’s color now exhibits subtle variations, ranging from different shades of brown to deep metallic grey and black, depending on the lighting conditions.

Over the years, the case has been well-preserved, maintaining its original brushing. The Camaro is powered by the renowned Valjoux 72 manually wound movement, similar to the early Rolex Daytonas, ensuring exceptional performance.
