Jaeger-Lecoultre Ref. 270.2.68 Reverso Tourbillon

It wasn’t until 1993 that Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced its very first wristwatch tourbillon, and intriguingly, it was housed in a Reverso case. Coincidentally, this was the same year that LMH – Les Manufactures Horlogères SA – the parent company of Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, and A. Lange & Söhne, was acquired by Mannesmann AG. Mannesmann AG later sold LMH to the Richemont Group in 2000.

The movement powering this historic timepiece was the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 828, measuring 28.8 mm x 23.2 mm x 4.79 mm and operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (vph). It featured small seconds and a power reserve indicator. Notably, the tourbillon completed one rotation per minute, with the small seconds hand integrated onto the axis of the tourbillon cage.
