Longines Admiral 5 Stars Ref. 1563 2 6651 Patinaed Dial

This iconic model from the collection perfectly encapsulates the spirit of its era. It showcases a classic design and is powered by the high-frequency caliber 431 movement. Originally created by Longines for the Ultra-Chron collection, this movement was among the most precise and advanced for mass production during its time.
As part of their centenary celebration in 1967, Longines introduced the Calibre 431 Ultra-chron, a high-frequency or hi-beat movement renowned for its precision. This movement’s balance spring oscillates at an impressive 36,000 beats per hour, twice the rate of a standard watch movement. The underlying concept is that a higher beat rate enhances timekeeping accuracy. Longines continued producing the 431 movements for an additional nine years, showcasing an exceptional engineering achievement.
This Longines Admiral is certainly a special sample. The Dial patina turned metallic red and looked like no other, it’s one of a kind.
