Longines “Baignoire” Cal.15L Ref.1085

Dubbed after the iconic case design from Cartier, Longines manual-wound Ref.1085 has an almost identical design to the original Baignoire. Shaped like a bathtub, the renowned model we recognize today emerged in 1958 within Cartier’s Parisian workshops. This timepiece boasted feminine and sensual contours, showcasing an innovative and imaginative style. Shortly after, the elongated Baignoire made its debut in the London studios.

Longines Ref.1085 houses an in-house movement, Calibre 15L, that was designed to fit nicely into such a small case shape. This is a very faithful homage to the original Baignoire and also goes for a great bargain compared to Cartier’s version.
