Rolex Datejust “Sigma” Linen Dial Ref.1601

The wide variety of dials found in the Vintage Rolex Datejust makes this icon so exciting and interesting. The present Rolex Datejust 1601 has a white “linen” dial with baton marker shape. This vintage watch dates back to 1973. This Ref. 1601 features the “Sigma” symbols at the bottom of the dial, a mark that has gained recognition and desirability, particularly for its presence on certain Daytona models. These small Sigma symbols, commonly seen on watches from the 1970s, signify that the hour markers and hands are crafted from gold—in this instance, white gold.

The linen stepped dial features elegant steel markers, intact lume dots and the date aperture at 3 o’clock.  The beautifully proportioned stainless steel case is crisp and greatly preserved. The fluted bezel is made of white gold. The beautiful Rolex Jubilee bracelet adds an elegant accent to the watch. The end-links have the reference 55.
All in all this Vintage Rolex Datejust is a good collector’s item and a perfect wristwatch for everyday use.
