Tudor Black Bay 58 “Google’s Watches for Good”

In 2018, Tudor introduced the Black Bay Fifty-Eight, delving deeper into their historical archives and finding inspiration in their 1958 Submariner “Big Crown” Ref. 7924. The BB58, as it is known, featured a red arrow-equipped dive bezel, a slimmer profile, and a slightly reduced case diameter of 39mm compared to its predecessor. With a water resistance of 200m, it maintained its status as a true diving watch while offering a more refined design. The BB58 received an overwhelmingly positive response, making it Tudor’s most popular timepiece. The watch’s reception even caught the attention of Watches for Good, a private group of watch enthusiasts at Google, known for organizing watch raffles to raise funds for charities worldwide. Teaming up with authorized dealer Reis Nichols, Watches for Good celebrated their association with Google by creating a limited edition BB58. Restricted to only 260 pieces, each watch showcases Google’s colors on the dial periphery at 6 o’clock, and the caseback is individually numbered and displays the numerical formula for a googol—the vast number consisting of one followed by a hundred zeros—from which Google derives its name.
