Vacheron Constantin Malte Grande Ref. 81500

In the year 2000, Vacheron Constantin introduced its Malte collection, consisting of four mechanical watches that shared distinctive characteristics such as stepped lugs and sword-blade hands. These models included the Big Date, Dual Time Regulator, Perpetual Chronograph, and Tourbillon, each showcasing a common DNA within the series. In the following years, Vacheron Constantin expanded the Malte line by introducing the Malte Grande Classique in 2002. This new addition boasted the in-house manual-winding caliber 1400, renowned for its classical beauty and precision, enriching the collection further.

Over two decade ago, the introduction of the Malte collection marked the commencement of a cohesive product strategy for Vacheron Constantin. While the collection has undergone substantial evolution since its inception, the design principles established at its outset persist in the watches crafted today. I admire the progression toward more captivating dials within this collection, notably when contrasted with the comparatively conservative Patrimony designs.
